about

I see you Tinder generation.
Recording began on this little tune in Berlin in 2012, I had been working on it for a few years at that point. Armed as I was with broken communication skills, emotional baggage, raging trauma fallout, childhood Disney training in unhealthy relationships and an exceptional tolerance for unacceptable behavior, I found myself in yet another “relationship”- or lets just call it what it was- a dependency, that I didn’t want to be in, and probably I had chosen the person precisely because I knew, deep down, that it would never work out for the long term. I woke in their bed in the middle of the night, feverish and unable to sleep, drug myself to the kitchen and clicked on the lamp dangling over the wooden table where this whole song regurgitated itself onto the crinkly brown paper bag I found to write it on, longing for what seemed to be the only good parts of relationships, and the only parts I was good at…
There is no moral of the story: romance is in the air, but honey, I’m just not emotionally, financially, or mentally stable enough to consider getting into anything long-term at this moment in time...

lyrics

One Night Mister Right

Its not the light of the moon thats shining in your eyes
Its the bright neon lights of a liquor store window sign
Well you seem like the type likes his whiskey and rye
I could never mistake your gaze for a look of love… right?

To say we’re a perfect match involves some damn creative thinkin'
But you seem pretty nice and you’re lookin’ alright
no this ain’t love at first sight no sir who would I be kiddin’
But I think you’re just the type I hoped that I would find tonight

For some fun and some dancin’ some late night romancin’
Someone to buy me drinks and hold me tight
You ain’t the man of my dreams, but he ain’t here now is he
Honey you’re my one night Mister Right

Well I know I’m being direct, but baby don’t be shy
this ain’t for forever its only for tonight
So lets get some drinks, get on the dance floor
I think you know just what I’m looking for

CHOR
Some fun and some dancin’ some late night romancin’
Someone to buy me drinks and hold me tight
I don't want no drama, don't act like I'm your mama
Honey you’re my one night Mister Right

When i was going out tonight, I was feeling alright
Didn’t know what the night was gonna bring
Romance is in the air, but honey I’m on a mission
to have myself the time of my life

For some fun and some dancin’ some late night romancin’
someone to buy me drinks and hold me tight
Lets just skip the bullshit, and get right to the good shit
Honey you’re my one night Mister right

Some fun and some dancin’ some late night romancin’
Someone to buy me drinks and hold me tight
I don’t wanna be your baby don’t need a man to drive me crazy
Honey you’re my one night Mister right
Honey you're my one night Mister right
Honey you're my one night Mister right (thats right!)
